Back in 2003 some friends and I hiked up to Lake Ediza in the Ansel Adams Wilderness.
I carried along my old Canon D60 (not 60D!) and a bunch of lenses and a way too heavy aluminium Bogen tripod.
If I were to go today, my kit would be lighter and higher resolution, but the weather could not be any better.
That heavy tripod was in hopes of doing some night sky photography, which I tried, with mixed success.
Although the D60 had a problem with long exposures, a red fog would show up on one edge of the sensor.
